Description

This is part one of a three part silvoculture webinar series. Join us to learn about approaches to planning for woodland conversion and trees into pasture including tools and methods, mapping, tree spacing and patterning, and more.

Our presenter is Steve Gabriel from Wellspring Forest Farm in NY. He is also an agroforestry extension specialist for the Cornell Small Farm Program.

Food Animal Concerns Trust (FACT) promotes the safe and humane production of meat, milk, and eggs. FACT envisions that all food-producing animals will be raised in a healthy and humane manner so that everyone will have access to safe and humanely-produced food.

Many welfare-oriented farmers want to reduce antibiotic usage, use safer and more natural feed, provide more space and better housing for their animals, and improve their ability to market their products. FACT listened to these concerns, and determined that the most effective response was through concerted efforts to expand humane farming and food safety—our two current focuses.
