Description

Join Tom for an English-speaking tour of Voedselbos de Overtuin.

Voedselbos De Overtuin is part of Trompenburg Tuinen & Arboretum. At 1.5 hectares this is the largest of Ondergrond’s projects within the Rotterdam urban environment. A voedselbos, or food forest, is designed to function just like a natural forest ecosystem. But the principal focus is on the production of food and other consumer products.

Over an hour and a half, we will walk through Voedselbos De Overtuin to learn more about its origins, as well as what a food forest is, how it works and what crops are growing within the system. And we’ll tell you more about our own ideas and ideals behind food forestry.

Where: Trompenburg Tuinen & Arboretum; Voedselbos De Overtuin

When: 14:00 Sunday 18th October

Tour guide: Tom Lovett

Costs: entrance ticket Trompenburg € 9,75,- & afterwards a donation for the tour.

If you are in possession of a Rotterdampas/Museum card, your Trompenburg ticket is free of charge.
