Description
Join us for the virtual screening of Kiss the Ground + Q&A with ecologist and film-maker John D. Liu.
Climate change impact societies and economies massively. Together with land use practices, it has contributed to desertification and land degradation. But a cure for climate change is right under our feet: soil.
Commonland invites you to a virtual screening of the documentary Kiss the Ground. A documentary that shows that, by regenerating the world’s soils, we can stabilize the earth’s changing climate and restore ecosystems. After the screening, we continue with a live Q&A with a.o. John D. Liu, ecologist and film-maker and featured in the documentary, and Willem Ferwerda, CEO Commonland. What are the challenges we’re facing in building a regenerative economy? What do we need to tackle these challenges? And how could we move towards a regenerative mindset and positive impact, for the next generation to live in abundance?
About Kiss the Ground
Science experts and celebrity activists unpack the ways in which the earth’s soil may be the key to combating climate change and preserving the planet. Narrated by Woody Harrelson, the documentary sheds light on a new, old approach to farming called “regenerative agriculture” that has the potential to balance our climate, replenish our vast water supplies, and feed the world.

“If we restore degraded landscapes on earth, we return to paradise. If we start to build a regenerated economy, this is the way forward. When we bring back fertile soils, we see biodiversity return, and we get tremendous satisfaction.” – John D. Liu
