Description

At this field day on Regenerative Farming, David Marsh from Boorowa NSW will tell us about his journey into regenerative farming. He is a practical farmer who believes that the health of the farm is the foundation of the farm business. He says that the farm business depends on the health of the largely invisible army of creatures in the soil and above which, together with grazing animals, create the biodiversity of the farm.

If we want a really secure long term future for our farms he argues that we must look after that biodiversity. In a practical sense, this means that David is always adjusting the number of stock on the farm depending on the season which he says makes good business sense as well as being essential for long term viability.

We are also hoping to provide some information (and possibly a demonstration) about the growing opportunities for farmers to get involved in carbon farming. This can be a way to help deal with climate change while also (hopefully) to earn additional income by farming to fix more carbon in soil rather than contributing to global warming. We expect that this will be a really interesting day so we hope you can come along.
