Commonland Foundation is an Amsterdam-based, internationally operating organization working on large-scale and long-term landscape restoration initiatives. And we’re on a mission: to transform 100 million ha of degraded landscapes before 2040 together with other landscape partners, farmers, policymakers, companies, and investors. To make this happen we have developed the ‘4 Returns’ framework. A practical and holistic approach to transform degraded ecosystems into vibrant landscapes and communities by focusing on 4 key returns supported by landscape zones over the course of a single generation, or 20 years.

About the position of (freelance) Digital Marketeer
We are looking for a (freelance) Digital Marketeer who will join our Marketing & Communications Team. This is a temporary position for 6 months for 3,5 days per week. You will be reporting to the Head of MarCom and you will work very closely together with our colleagues who are responsible for communications, events and content & storytelling. Since we are an international scale-up, it is important that you are a self-starter who brings in your own ideas, experience and takes the lead in the MarCom team to bring the digital marketing activities to the next level. In this position, you will be responsible for the (development and execution of our) digital marketing strategy and all activities that help us improve our online presence and navigation. We are looking for a strategic and hands-on team player who is experienced in setting up digital tools to collect data and to translate these data and statistics into a profound digital marketing strategy and a concrete action plan. Someone who is flexible and open-minded and knows how to convince others based on thorough analyses.
About your experience:
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree preferably in Marketing, Media Studies, Communication Sciences or Business Studies
- At least 8 years of experience in marketing and 5 years in digital marketing
- Experience in SEO and SEA
- Experience in UX Design
- Experience in building dashboards and Google analytics
- Experience in website optimization tools like Optimize, Hotjar and Usabilla
- Digital campaign experience via e.g., Google Ads
- Preferably experience with designing programs like Adobe and Photoshop
- Fluent in both written and spoken English
- Strong drive to support Commonland’s mission
