Description
The Carbon Foundation is a registered Australian Charity founded in October 2020. Our ambition is to rapidly scale carbon sequestration and greenhouse gas emission reduction activities in the Australian food and agriculture sector.
We believe in super-charging carbon farming as a nature-based-solution to climate change, to enhance biodiversity and holistically regenerate landscapes nation-wide. We plan to instigate projects on 1 million hectares of Australian farmland by 2030. We will do this by partnering with landowners, food companies and other organisations across the country.
In monitoring, measuring and documenting our pilot projects success and failures openly, we hope to propel the industry forward, unblocking barriers and bottlenecks within the carbon farming supply chain. We will empower farmers to facilitate their own carbon projects and work with food companies to incentivise farm-level emission reductions.
