The Netherlands Red Cross is part of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, the world’s largest humanitarian network. The Red Cross, founded on a desire to provide assistance to the wounded on the battlefield without discrimination, endeavours to prevent and alleviate human suffering wherever it may be found.
Our society, which consists of over 20,000 volunteers, 41,000 Ready2Help volunteers, 450 professionals and 725,000 members and donors, aims to help people in distress during disasters, emergencies and conflicts – whether close to home or far away.
